October to-do list

Say goodbye to the light nights. This shot was only taken a few weeks ago, but rather suddenly we’ve slipped into what feels like an early winter. Embrace the cold nights by cuddling up on the couch with a mug of spiced hot chocolate.

Check out Cuckoo’s Bakery Halloween cupcakes. Not only do the flavours sound delicious, but they look suitably scary and will be perfect for your Halloween party.

Grab a copy of the beautiful new lifestyle magazine, The Simple Things. It celebrates slowing down and spending time doing the things you love – perfect for this time of year.

Visit The Blackbird. Amazing food and fantastic cocktails in one very cool venue, this new Edinburgh bar and restaurant is a must-visit before getting a table becomes a thing of the past.

Read The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. Beautifully written, the book evokes so much emotion as Hadley Richardson, Ernest Hemingway’s first wife, recounts the demise of their marriage. The best book I have read in a long time.
