New house update: the bedroom edit
So, the renovations … they are happening but slowly. Very slowly. I figured our new abode would be comfortable, welcoming, homely even at this point, but alas, the answer is no. Far from it. My walls are still bare and full of holes, the floor boards are beyond repair, and now that we’re in the thick of re-wiring the house, there is a fine layer of dust covering everything. Great.
To keep me sane and give me some hope that this house will become a home (one day), I’ve started to visualise how it’s going to look. This goes way beyond paint colours, to throws, picture frames and even candles. In this post, I’m focusing on my plans for the bedroom. I won’t be changing our bed, so I’ve worked everything around it. I want to create a cosy environment, with lots of texture, which I hope to achieve with these items.

1. Castello bed from Marks & Spencer, 2. Seville bed linen collection from The White Company, 3. Knitted Waves throw from John Lewis, 4. Emulsion in Oxford Stone from Farrow and Ball, 5. Voluspa Mokara candle from Anthropologie, 6. Gold Honeycomb vase from Oliver Bonas, 7. Nkuku Kiko standing mirror from Amara 8. The Georgette footstool from Sofa.com, 9. Nkuku Kiko glass photo frame from John Lewis.
I’m hoping by the end of this year, it will all have pulled together and I’ll have a bedroom that reflects this board.
What colour scheme and feel do you have in your bedroom? Do you prefer light and airy or cosy and warm?
