Almost two weeks ago, I breathed a sigh of relief as I welcomed long lies, catching up with friends and family and endless glasses of mulled wine. Following a rather hectic Christmas, we packed our bags and headed to the sea to welcome 2013 with our friends in Portpatrick.
The glorious coastal setting was a welcome break from city life. We ate, we drank, and we dominated the New Year’s Eve joviality at the local pub. It was a great way to start 2013, and ties in with one of my many resolutions – explore Scotland and spend more time with my friends. We also resolved to take more photographs, and we made a good start in Portpatrick.

Happy New Year to you all. I hope you had as much fun bringing in 2013 as we did.

Wow it looks absolutely beautiful! I really want to see the sea more this year (living in the Midlands makes it hard!). Happy new year to you!
It is beautiful Hannah, and I find there’s something really calming about being by the sea. Happy New Year to you too!
