Tales from the weekend #6

This weekend has been busy. The sort of busy when Sunday night arrives, you feel like you need another couple of days off just to recover. Not a second was wasted from 5.15pm on Friday night when I had a large glass of red wine in my hand to now, where I’m spending the evening catching up on Game of Thrones – oh how happy I am to have dragons in my life again.

Friday night was spent with friends, catching up over a bottle of wine and a lovely dinner at the West Room, followed by another bottle of wine at Le Di-Vin and then gin. Ouch. This did mean though that a roll with some Heck sausages was an order on Saturday morning. We then went for a wander and stopped at the Riparian Rooms for some chips and a cheese board (chips and cheese can be classy, right?) before heading home to get glammed up for a night out on the town. I got to wear my Jimmy Choos and my Dior necklace and dance right into the small hours with a collection of the best people on this earth. But again, ouch. An amazing brunch of smoked haddock risotto from Cross and Corner – I had this exact same dish two weeks ago and haven’t stopped thinking about it since – helped to blow away the cobwebs. We had a lot of fun, but it’s safe to say next weekend will be a whole lot quieter.

What did you get up to? I hope you had a good one!

I always equate GOT with the winter and now the warmer weather is here, it doesn’t feel quite the same watching it in the light. Saying that it has been excellent so far so I would definitely recommend watching it :-) x
