I have gone a bit juice and smoothie crazy recently. I’m passing on porridge more days than not in order to get a good shot of greens in me for breakfast. This means that I’m experimenting a lot with different flavour combinations to mix up the nutrients I’m getting. Up until recently, I’ve used my liquidiser to make my smoothies and juices, until the lovely people at Debenhams sent me a Breville Blend Active, an amazing smoothie maker that comes with two portable cups, which makes life so much easier.
If you are looking to invest in a smoothie maker, I would highly recommend the Blend Active, which comes with two bottles that you blend your smoothie in. They then detach and away you go. There’s no faff with having to clean a liquidiser or juicer – all the mess is contained within the one cup that is easy to clean.
So what was the first smoothie I made with my new toy? It was a super green spinach, green pepper and lime drink. If you want to make one yourself, start with 125ml of water and blend half a green pepper, 125g of spinach and the juice of one lime. Blend until smooth and there you have it, an entirely guilt free drink.
To help me on my quest to a fitter, healthier me, Debenhams also sent me a gorgeous Speedo swimsuit, so I’ll be incorporating a swim or two into my fitness routine each week. And look out for more smoothie posts in the coming weeks.
