Apple, blueberry and coconut juice

Can you tell that I’m channelling spring with today’s recipe? I’ve decided that since spring is taking soooo long to come to me, I would go to it. And boy did it work. It’s amazing what can happen when you throw some fruity flavours and a floral straw into the mix. In my mind I was sitting on a park bench surrounded by daffodils, wearing sunglasses to keep the daylight glare out my eyes and sipping on this refreshing apple, blueberry and coconut juice. In reality, I was snuggled up under a blanket, staring out of the window at the...

Breakfast, lunch and dinner

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I’ve had one of those that feels like I’ve blinked and it was over. I seemed to cram a lot in, but I definitely feel that the busier the weekend is the quicker we’re back at Monday again. I had one of those rare weekends when I went out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was some serious over-indulgence going on, but it was all in the name of celebrating. On Friday evening, my friends and I had dinner at Montpelliers, before heading to another’s friend’s flat warming party, where she introduced us...

Things that made me smile this January

January is always a really hard month and the cold dark mornings make it that much more difficult to leave the warmth and cosiness of bed. Getting back into a routine after the holidays and accepting that chomping my way through all that cheese has definitely NOT agreed with my waistline is a bit of a bummer too. Boo. But that being said, there were also a lot of things that made me smile in January and here are just a few of them. 1. Starting more days than I should with a latte and a croissant. Having this for...

Chocolate, amaretto and raspberry pots

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Last night I made good on one of my 2015 to-do list items and had some friends round for dinner. That meant that Saturday was a blur of menu planning, table setting and cooking up a storm. Come 7pm, I had seriously earned my three-course meal and a glass of red. But it was so nice to enjoy some food with two of our closest friends and set the world to rights. For dinner we had antipasti with homemade bread to start, beef in red wine with crushed new potatoes and garlicky...

Mellow yellow

Freya Hello Sunshine Cushion from Spoilt Rotten Gifts  The spare room in our house has been neglected for a while. I spruced it up a little before Christmas as we had people staying, but it really needs to be redone. Part of the problem is when we last painted it we got the colour wrong. Despite doing all the right things and trying out tester pots until we got what we thought was the perfect shade, once it was on all four walls it was nothing like what we had in mind. At that time we had run out of...

How to get into a fitness routine

Around three years ago I started to take my health and fitness a lot more seriously. Why? Well, this may sound a little superficial, but Rob had just proposed and I found out pretty quickly that nothing motivates a girl to sort out her eating habits and get to the gym quite like the threat of fitting into a wedding dress. But now that we’ve been married almost a year, have I fell out of that routine I worked so hard to build up? The answer is no and let me tell you why. I’ve never felt better. I have...
