I took a few days off work last week to do ‘festival stuff’, a phrase you hear readily if you happen to be in Edinburgh during the month of August. Following some truly amazing cake at Lovecrumbs, I took myself out of the hustle and bustle to the more sedate surroundings of the City Art Centre. I had my Mary Janes on and I was set to spend the afternoon with Vogue. Or more accurately, Condé Nast. And, as I predicted, it didn’t disappoint.
It’s somewhat of a ritual when my copy of Vogue lands on the doormat each month. It doesn’t get opened until the weekend, and is always accompanied by a vat of coffee and some music. It is savoured, rather than just enjoyed. The same can be said for the Coming into Fashion exhibition. Featuring fashion photography from the early 20th century right through to today, this exhibition is genuinely inspiring. But don’t just take my word for it – get down to Edinburgh’s City Art Centre before 08 September and see for yourself.0 likes
