Now that 01 December is but a few days away, it’s totally acceptable to start listening to Christmas songs, gorging on mince pies and consuming as much mulled wine as is socially acceptable before it disappears for another 11 months. The other thing that gets me really excited is the thought of decorating my house. I always do this on 01 December, and it’s really a licence for me to play Christmas songs, drink the aforementioned mulled beverage and generally be annoyingly cheerful.
What I’d initially planned for this blog post went out of the window when I saw this image on the Country Living website. I intended to dazzle you all with inspiring shots of as many different ways to bring your Christmas tree to life as possible; we’re talking colour schemes, DIY decorations, fairy lights – there was even tinsel. But then I saw this, and came to the conclusion that no other images would top it. If I could spend Christmas in a room, it would be this room. I can imagine how much sweeter my wine would taste, how much cosier I would be by that fire, and generally, how much more Christmas cheer would evaporate from my pores. But, alas, I will need to live without the roaring fire, the exposed brick work and perfectly wrapped gifts. On that note, I think I need another glass of wine.0 likes
