I’m currently embarking on a cleanse. Strange time of year, I know, but recently my focus on healthy eating has gone down and my intent on eating and drinking lots of things that are bad for me has undoubtedly gone up. Oops. So for the next few days at least I’m going to adopt a ‘eat how you would like to feel’ stance and try and feed my body more nourishing alternatives than croissants, burgers and lasagne.

Replacing my beloved French pastries for breakfast this week will be this delicious blueberry, vanilla and fromage frais smoothie. It’s healthy, tasty, and the protein elements help keep me full until lunch. Here’s what you’ll need to make one smoothie:

  • 150g of fresh blueberries
  • 3 tablespoons of fat free fromage frais
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
  • 100ml of water
  • 150ml of skimmed milk

Pop all of your ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth. If the smoothie is a little thick for your liking, add more water or milk until you reach your desired consistency.

        I put in a banana, yoghurt, frozen strawberries, a tablespoon of chia and a handful of kale. I am pretty boring and usually have the same thing every day but I am beginning to get bored of it!

    That looks delicious! And I’m so intrigued by the fromage frais! I have done a few ‘cleanse’ like this recently, mainly with eating lots of veggies and smoothies like that, but I can never stick to them sadly!

      The fromage frais gives it a slightly thicker texture Camila, which is good if like me you’re not so keen on bananas :-)

    That is the prettiest smoothie ever! Plus blueberries yay! Funny you should mention pastries – I’ve been trying to avoid them too as they are such a bad habit…

    Oh, this looks delicious. We love a good smoothie around here but we’ve never used protein powder before. Is it good stuff?

      I really like protein powder Em as I mostly have smoothies after I’ve worked out and conscious of the lack of protein that usually features in them. I use the Kinetica brand, which is really good and you cam buy it from Amazon.
