August to-do list

1 Embrace the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With so many shows to choose from, it can be a little daunting, but half of the fun is going to see something completely random. But if you want to plan in advance, check out Edinburgh Spotlight. It is by far the most comprehensive reviewing website.

2 If you head in the direction of the Udderbelly, visit the pop-up Assembly Mojito Bar. A truly unique experience, it’s the only place in Edinburgh where the ingredients are laid bare for you to make your own mojito. Team this with the intoxicating smell of mint and salsa music, you’re guaranteed to have a great time.

3 If you do feel the need to escape from the madness of Edinburgh, visit Jupiter Artland. A haven just outside the city, you can’t help but come back feeling chilled out and relaxed.

4 Browse the new Marks and Spencer homeware collection. The Clerkenwell Cluster Pendant Ceiling Light is currently on my wishlist.

5 Cook with courgettes. They are in season at the moment, and are so versatile. Whether grilled as an antipasto accompaniment, or added to soups, this is a truly delicious vegetable.

I’m still to make it to Jupiter Artland… it’s been on my list for years but it always seems to be tipping it down when I’ve planned to go! (And you’re so right about the Fringe, half the fun is the randomness!!) :)
